Job Description:

As part of our project management team, Field Engineer is a mid-level entry worksite position.  Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Obeying and enforcing safety policies and helping to ensure a safe work environment for the dredge personnel (Site Safety and Health Officer)

  • Hydrographic surveys(HYPAC Software)

  • Beach/land surveys

  • Dredge engineering

  • Dredge production monitoring, analysis and reporting

  • Quality assurance and control

  • Monitoring of subcontractors’ operations

This is a jobsite/dredge location position and travel is extensive.  Cottrell provides housing, transportation and meals while working.  The work schedule is approximately two weeks on and one week off rotation.

Qualifications

We are interested in trustworthy individuals with a strong work ethic.  A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering with 3 years experience or 5 years Marine construction and/or dredging experience required.  Annual 8 hour Safety Training update minimum required.  OSHA-30 Certification a plus.

Physical Demands

Field engineers are required to be able to board, work on and disembark floating vessels and structures.  Must be able to navigate stairs, ladders and gangways and lift loads up to twenty pounds in weight.
