Safety

Cottrell Contracting’s first priority when conducting its operations is safety.  No project can be looked upon as successful if an accident occurs.  Cottrell Contracting strives to provide the safest possible working conditions for its employees and to protect the health and safety of the public in all of its facilities, whether ashore or afloat.

To affirm its commitment, Cottrell Contracting complies with all applicable current occupational health, safety and environmental laws and regulations, and strives to develop the best feasible operations, procedures, technologies and programs. We ensure that each employee is fully trained to do the job that he or she was hired to do.  In addition, we utilize a Pre-task Safety and Health Analysis of new equipment, chemicals, facilities/ project sites or significantly different operations or procedures, We use engineering controls, administrative controls and personal protective equipment to ensure safety and health.

To augment our safety compliance and training, Cottrell Contracting holds weekly Tool Box Meetings. The Tool box Meeting is an interactive safety discussion about a specific subject. The purpose is to remind employees about the importance of safety in their daily tasks.

Cottrell is proud that it has one of the lowest accident rates in its industry.  Cottrell Contracting always has, and will continue to, be committed to making safety its first priority.
